Spotlight: MUSIC
Only Us
Only Us is a group of producers/emcees composed of PNStar, M.I. Nyce &
Gatskan. The Groups debut mixtape "The Pure" Mixed and Hosted by DJ Pop Rek is
the backstory of life in Brooklyn as lived by the three aforementioned emcees.
The first couple Only Us songs, were written before the music projects even
existed. These songs could not be accessed on the internet, maybe heard at a
local venue or even on street corners. One might've heard these songs being
played obnoxiously by the 3 mc's in the basement and apartments/house parties
around Bushwick/Crown Heights Brooklyn. Most of these songs, born out of life
experiences turned into recordings, and these recordings drifted around the
internet for a while before turning into their first release "The Pure" Thus
confirming the facts that through hardwork and dedication, Only Us can not only
stand the test of time, but possibly posess the key necessary to diversify even
the most cynic of critics. it's not an exaggeration to say that only us is
handling their own and always seem to be seeking out new ways to propel their
craft to higher altitudes. Their rich passion for music have led them to
gigs at talent shows and open mic's at popular NYC venues such as CBGBs, Lions
Den, NuyoRican, Mercury Lounge and currently in orlando florida BackBooth just
to name a few. Thanks to their dedication, the group has been able to remain
relevant thru an alternative pop stage in hip hop and is able to deliver that
which offers a peek into a vintage sounding hip hop in the 90's mixed with urban
street vibes and an experimental approach to music. Their Latest project
is available for download at http://onlyus.bandcamp.com/
videos available on youtube:http://www.youtube.com/user/OnlyUsMusicGroup
Also
they recently Joined forces with Mac Marz. on a Coast To Coast Mixtape By DJ DOO

These dudes have been an underdog driving force spreading their
wholehearted lifestyles across North America. Delivering a highly energetic live
show. Only Us has been turning heads, always leaving audiences speechles and
asking for more. There is no sign or chance it seems, that they have any
intention of slowing down the pace anytime soon.

Spotlight: Singer/Songwriter
Kylee Claxton
Kylee Claxton, although born in Omaha, Nebraska was raised in Fort Mill, South
Carolina from the age of two. She began singing at the
tender age of three. Her first solo debut took place in a Christmas production
at Church when she was four years old. Kylee went on to perform in many other
Church plays and was so passionate about the stage and sharing her gift that she
joined the Kid's Choir. At the age of six, Kylee was one of nine children chosen
to record a song with Gospel Artist Derrick Floyd. This once in a lifetime
experience inspired her to begin writing and recording her own music on tape
recorders. Kylee took her talents a step further and started a duo with her
fourth grade best friend. The two girls wrote their own lyrics and melodies and
began selling accapella recordings on cassette tapes to people around the
neighborhood! "The Doubles", as they referred to themselves, also starred in a
music video that they filmed in their front yard to one of their originals. As
Kylee continued to grow, so did her passion and drive for music. She joined the
Youth Choir as well as the Fort Mill High Chorus, Show Choir, and Showstoppers.
Kylee has a love for acting and dancing as well and decided she would like to
incorporate the three talents by auditioning for her High School's production of
"Grease." She was awarded the role of Frenchy. Kylee's personality and natural
ability to become whatever she puts her energy into, allowed her to nail the
role with ease. She went on to star as Carmen Diaz in "FAME The Musical." Kylee
began looking for opportunities to sing and perform outside of School and
Church. One of Kylee's greatest opportunities was performing the National Anthem
for the Charlotte Bobcats! She went on to audition for a televised talent show
called "Gimme the Mic! Charlotte" where she performed on Seasons 1 and
2. One of the three judges for the show was Michelle from Destiny's Child. Kylee
also had the pleasure of competing with American Idol's Kelly Pickler before the
world knew her. Soon after the show's end, Kylee was given the opportunity to
move to NYC, a place she had never even visited, to pursue her dream. She made
the daring move and decided to stop at nothing to make this dream come true.
Right away Kylee began talking to whoever she met about what she was doing in
NY, hoping and praying to make the right connection. Eventually she started
meeting producers that wanted to work with her after hearing her sing and
listening to her songwriting abilities. She had a few bad experiences (industry
nightmares that she had been warned to watch for) but this would all become a
part of her story. Kylee was determined to keep pushing. She exercised patience
and finally met a group of guys who were the Real Deal! Johnny Nice, a brilliant
Engineer/Producer was given material on Kylee and shortly after set up a meeting
with her. The next thing she knew, Kylee was singing for Paul Anthony of the
amazing and talented Full Force!
Kylee has had the pleasure of performing with Full Force in Las Vegas during a tribute
to some of the most successful artists of the 80's and 90's. Also performing in
this show, on the very same stage, were Vanilla Ice, Montel Jordan, Shannon,
Force MD's and the list goes on! Kylee's most memorable moments in her career
thusfar have been working with talents including Full Force, Johnny Nice, Dave
Eggar, Steve Messina, Alex Skolnick, Josh Wilbur, and Shia Nunoo. Currently an
unsigned artist, Kylee is working hard getting to the next level with her music. Now in her early 20's and
with so much to say, this talent will not stop until the world gets a chance to
relate to her through her music. Kylee describes her experiences, whether it's
vocal referencing, writing, recording, or traveling and performing, as a true
blessing. She looks forward to creating many future hits with these legendary
talents!!
