BIO
SPUD!, the Brooklyn born lyricist and songwriter has been
writing music since the age of thirteen. During this period the untimely death of his mother and the increasing allure of the streets provided his subject matter. At the age of fifteenth SPUD!'s gritty Bushwick neighborhood became the backdrop and musical baseline motivating most of his music. As he became deeper involved in his skill of writing he began to find the freedom of writing outside of his genre. Throughout this time SPUD! has honed his lyricism, freestyling and song writing, mastering the self expression of his
experiences making him a seasoned artist and concept writer. He expanded the limitation with pen and paper, crafting songs in genres such as Pop, Rock and R&B.
After years of development SPUD! penned a placement record for a wellknown
Pop artist. This song drew much attention from the major labels and songwriters alike. After creating a catalog of songs to be pitched to other artist, Garrett Brown, the acclaimed music producer and publishing company Keep Bouncing contacted SPUD! offering a publishing deal. Not limiting his range in music, he then expanded his love for the art by opening his own recording studio, named SHU Studio. He then developed the editing and mixing skills, to now add engineering as one of his accolades. The momentum of his drive not only amplified his ears for music but his eyes as well. Under his SHU Studio banner he began to shoot music videos for other artist
and photoshoots for models, capturing a tasteful and eye grabbing image for others.
SPUD! has now morphed from just an artist, to a complete
branding company. SPUDBROOKLYN, the branding company has grown to offer artists business management and development towards their dreams. Even dabbling into fashion, SPUDBROOKLYN has created its own line of clothing, from tee shirts to sport hats and a women's line under the tag "Jelly Me".
He has become a producer for the lipstick and liquor Bottles radio show, Beat break show and the SHU Shine pod cast.
SPUD! has even used his talent to help keep youth and young adults from straying down the wrong path by creating a Non-profit called SPUD.inc, where he uses music as an alternative approach to decision making.
